I highly recommend T2 ankle braces!
I've been using two of them for about a year now and they are the best out there imo. They are comfortable and have a hinge allowing flexibility yet are extremely stable and have stopped my feet from rolling numerous times. Also, without them there's really no need to wear hightops, muchless midtops. There are also holes to thread your shoelaces into them which give even more protection (altho the holes only line up with lowtops, and not all lowtops)
I've had my fair share of bad sprains, visits to the emergency room for xrays etc., medical/rehab bills, not to mention damage limiting my ankle's range of motion so its a worthy investment. I haven't had a single sprain since I've started wearing. When you know your ankles are protected you can play more aggressively too.
Btw, some people might say that once you start using a brace it weakens the ankle so you're more vulnerable if you ever play without it. There may be some truth to that but I think the argument is complete worthless! It really doesn't matter how strong your ankles are when you roll on someone elses foot or come down wrong, your ankle isn't designed to support that kind of force at that kind of angle. Thats why ankle sprains are the most common basketball injury even in nba players, and given the risk of a major ankle injury, its definitely worth it imo.
Also, if you look around they come in black too.
