TO scores 4 touchdowns

Commentator on NBC says "who would have thought that TO would be the spokesman/leader of the Dallas Cowboys?" Paraphrased there, the commentator will go nameless. I've always been a TO fan. It doesn't surprise me a bit.

TO currently is 1st in the league in yards, tied for 1st in TDs...if buffalo somehow manages to hold Randy Moss, which they won't, he'll still be leading for the week. Pretty impressive - he's on pace to have the best season of his career, and will most likely move up to #2 in career TDs.

I hated him for a long time, but I'm not complaining now.

You shouldn't have hated TO. He's misunderstood, has always been misunderstood.

I'm a Cowboys fan. He was an outspoken star for the 49ers and the Eagles. That's the definition of someone I should hate.

What's wrong with being outspoken? It's better to speak your mind if you have something to say.

Well, looks like he's delivering for your Cowboys. TO's an amazing athlete. Just look at him. He's always been the most awesome tight end there is in terms of physical gifts, so powerful. He came in with another rookie, J.J. Stokes and played opposite Jerry Rice. He looked like Rice's heir apparent from the start. Unfortunately, the 49ers blew up.

WTH is fantasy football? Seriously, I hear about this (threads, basically), but don't know what it is.

Your mind is obviously elsewhere. Stop thinking about his "tight end". 😉

He's a WR.

Um....TO is a wide receiver.

Uh, yeah, I knew that. I did say Rice's heir apparent. Wide receiver, dude.

Yeah, I meant wide receiver. Actually, if he put on 40 lb. of fat, he could play TE.

He's good, but he could be so much better if he could catch a pass in the clutch and not make so many drops on what should be completions.

Have you watched this season? He's made a ton of clutch catches and barely dropped any. Granted his hands have always been his downfall, last year he WAS playing with a broken finger.

No. He's done a lot of wrong in the past, much more than just being misunderstood. Easy to forget when he scores 4 TDs though. Plus he loves the fans there and they love him back. Nice that he seems to be maturing, but then again it wouldn't surprise me if he threw Romo under the bus next year.

What you don't understand is that there's no malice in TO. Like I say, he's misunderstood.

When and if Romo starts to come back down to earth and can't get the ball to Owens consistently (or simply doesn't throw the ball his way a decent amount), Owens will again become a sore for the team. He has been in the league way too long and we've all seen his antics time and time again....as long as he's getting thrown balls his way and his team is winning, he's perfectly happy.

So, you've only been a cowboys fan since like 1999?

TO is a prick, he just happens to be OUR prick now. I was soooo hoping that emmitt would hurt him when he danced on the Star at texas stadium. I said last year when we got him that the only way it would be ok would be if we won the super bowl with him. I'll amend that to say "get to" the superbowl since the afc appears poised to dominate for many years to come, but the point was that we needed to get some incredible production from him to make people forget his past. He's done that so far and not done anything to remind us of his past this year. If he keeps it up he'll end his career with a ring or two and a good rep. 🙂

Look at it this way... He's a superstar wideout. If he's not getting the ball thrown to him, his team is blowing it. When he's no longer the best wideout on the team (hasn't happened yet since he became that after Rice's slow demise), then and only then will he be culpable for complaining he's not getting the ball.

What's your problem with his "past?" I don't fuck much with the past, myself. 😎

...what?

The 49er/Eagle rivalries go back a bit farther than 1999.....
