Just about to throw these boys on the smoker and head off to bed. Cook well tonight, my friends.

looks great. i expect pictures of finished product.

i been kicking around getting a electric smoker. not sure how much i would use it though

Any complaints about it? I'm probably going to buy one when the weather warms up a bit.

It's very well made. For the price ($400 on Amazon), you're not going to beat the results with any smoker on the market. Everything we've made on it (turkey, chicken, ribs, pork rack, pork butt, beef, etc.) has been delicious.

The water pan is really an awesome component. Pretty much idiot proof at maintaining 225 - 250 if you fill it up.

Only complaint I can think of is that the built in thermometer is a tad unreliable. I use a wireless thermometer anyway, and I'm always confused by which one to trust.

I use a Big Green Egg. It cost a little more but I have been able to cook over 20 h
ours and not have to reload or change the vents.

That's what I use as well. I like it and had it for years.

Those 22" WSM are expensive at $400. At that price I would spend little more and get ceramic Green Egg like smoker/grill. I've seen one at Costco in the $500+ range. I paid $200 for 18" WSM from Amazon years back.

Costco does not carry the Big Green Egg. Ace hardware has them.

That looks good. I envy those who enjoy cooking. I can open a can of soup/chili and heat it up, but that's about all I can handle. 😛

hmm didn't think of useing it for jerky. does it do a good job?

that might be the thing that gets me to buy one. everyone in my family loves good jerky.

It does a great job. I cure it first and it stays good for weeks. I have done turkey and beef. I try to make it once a week or so.
