I havent figured out a way to do this, but I figured I mine as well ask.

Also, what happens if you order a childrens ticket for 6.50$ instead of the $9.50 one for adults? How do they actually check since you are ordering it online? I know when I order tickets online and go to the theatre, they take my ticket and rip it just like if I purchased it in the theatre.

Every theatre I've been too, check the ticket prior to ripping it, I'm sure they'd ask you to refund your current ticket and buy a proper ticket if you tried that at any of my local cinemas.

That depends on the policies of the organization that you're ordering from. What does it say on their website regarding student discounts?

I bought tickets online once. It sucks because you have to pay an extra $2.50 "processing fee" for every ticket.

I go to this theatre all the time and you can use a student discount no problems when you go there. its just that on movietickets.com, you cannot choose a student ticket, only child, senior, and adult.

Then what does that TELL you? Movietickets.com doesn't allow for student discounts. Sheesh. Anyway, your choices at this point are to either buy the tickets from the theater at a student discount or buy them ahead of time online without your student discount.

Maybe a happy medium by showing up early to buy your tickets so you can get your student discount and not have to wait in line later to buy them?

i used to know a friend that would buy kids tickets and pick them up in the theater and use them.

the show starts at 9:45 and I can't get there until like 9:00pm, and this theatre usually is packed especially on opening night. however this being a wednesday is throwing me off. i think i'm just going to take the extra $6 guarantee to see the movie and order em online.

The answer is no. If you want your student discount, you'll have to present it to the ticket guy/girl at the theatre.

That sucks. Well, be sure to read the fine print. Many online ticket venues state that buying tickets online doesn't guarantee seats. Many times the theaters hold that policy as well. Good luck though.

When I was a student I would get the online tickets for full price and have the box office change them to student prices when I arrived. My wife still does this while she is in grad school.

Unless you are late, I would just use fandango and the such for finding show times. Rather than paying the extra buck for no reason. You have to talk to the ticket window to get your tickets anyways...

Now if you could just walk in with your little printout, that would be the shiznits, but alas...

well wehre I go, on opening nights for movies you typically need to be there 2 hours to get a ticket for the show you want to see. if you dont, it will be sold out usually until the next show starting around 2 hours later.

If you try to get there at 8:30 to see an 8:45 showing, they will be sold out until atleast 10pm. even sometimes a week after the movie has been out, it is like that. i remember seeing a movie a week after the last samurai was released, and it was sold out a week later for shows starting an hour after i was buying tickets.

also, you can just walk in w/your printout. and booking online DOES guarantee you a seat. i don't know what theatres you all go to lol, but where I live its the 21st century :p. you order online and are charged for the ticket when you purchase online, you go into the theatre and there are about 7 kiosks where you slide your credit card through it and it then prints out your tickets, and you go to the ticket guy and he rips your ticket in half. you don't have to go talk to anyone at the ticket booth or anything.

I moved to the deep south for work reasons, so cut me some slack. I'm aware of how it should work. ;)

It's not modern era theatres every where you go. IE a ticket machine. It's all people here. It's just as fast practically, hand them your credit card they swipe it, and give you the tickets.

Though for a regular show, that won't be sold out, why pay the extra buck when you have to hit the machine or ticket counter anyways...
