To people not in school anymore..

Ever since graduating 3 years ago I can't remember the last time I actually used a pencil. It's rare enough that I use a pen to write things, but a pencil is basically useless now to me.

Pencils rock. You can tell at a glance whether it's going to write or not, and if it won't some quick work with my knife will make it functional again.

I almost never use a pen ... I am a mechanical pencil addict ... I can see at least 6 of them in my cube without searching.

I mostly use a ball point pen for taking notes, but occasionally I'll use a mechanical pencil. I don't think I've used a wooden pencil in years.

For math/science, yes. For everything else my teachers will get very mad if pencil is used.

Yeah, I remember how things were in high school...

Personally, I use a mechanical pencil almost exclusively. I erase often.

It feels much better to write with pen, when I write with pencil I feel like i'm scratching chalkboard with nails.
