At 41 years old I am still confused. I think that it is important to know when to use to, and when to use too. Can someone explain this to me? I know, I know, Im an idiot, but I still need to know.

Use "to" in most cases: I gave the gift to him. I drove to Atlanta.

Use "too" when expressing degree or in place of "also." I ate too much food. I'd like to go there too (also).
