Here's the situation...
Just added an 8800gt to the system and a 620 PSU. Using fan profiles, the 8800 idles at 50C with the case closed (fan at 50%). When it was open it was 45C.
My case is an older Antec SohoII - I love it, but, it's limited to 4 80mm fans.
The question is, is it worth cutting a whole in the side and the top panels to stick in 120mm fans? (intake on side, exhaust on top) I figure that way it brings cool air in over the gpu and CPU.
If I do cut holes, is there something you get to cover the edges? I can't imagine everyone who cuts their cases makes perfect, showroom floor type cuts. If this trim exists, who carries it? And finally, I do have a dremel. Is there a particulare bit that cuts best for this type of thing?
Thanks!
