So, I just reformatted my gaming PC (8800gtx, 4gb RAM, evga 680i LT, 700w PSU, antec 900), and I'm deciding whether or not to install the nvidia board drivers except LAN. Any suggestions?
If you mean the Nvidia chipset drivers, the ones to avoid are the IDE drivers (storage) and ?NAM (firewall and access manager) for the NIC. The following info from this thread. http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=29&threadid=1803985&enterthread=y shows specifically which part of Nvidia drivers to avoid.
* Install NVIDIA SMbus Driver.
* Install NVIDIA Ethernet Driver, but you'd better avoid installing NVIDIA FireWall and ForceWare Network Access Manager (NAM).
* You don't have to install "NVIDIA Storage Driver" unless you use RAID, NCQ or hot swapping.
