to filter or not

so im looking at case fans and see filtered and unfilterd, which is better to have? and what does a filter do? tia

Dude the filter is to catch all the dust, hair and crap thet the fan will blowin to you case. I have a few case fans and have to clean my case every month you would be amazed at how much crap the fans blow in. BTW just ordered some filter for 2cooltek on saterday hope they dont block alot of the air flow.

Well, go with the unfiltered and in 6 months take off the cover to your case. You'll see how much sh1t gets blown in there!! 😉

Im going unfiltered, only because I want airflow, and dont mind taking a vac to it once a month

i go unfiltered and although there is some build-up inside, it doesn't really hurt anything and all runs well, just an occasional cleansing if i have time... but the performance is great

Try USED dryer sheets like Bounce. Tape them under your bezel but in front of your intake fans. These restrict airflow very little but catch a surprising amount of junk. My case temp remained the same using the dryer sheets. Another thing to try is used nylons. I am going try that next..

Used nylons work great. They restrict basically nothing, and can be formed to fit almost any opening. Every 2 weeks I clean the nylon by putting the vacuum cleaner against it. It keeps all the dog hair out. You can actually see it on the nylon. I've also found that by keeping the computer off the ground keeps a lot of the shuffled off dirt out of it. I have mine sitting up about 5 inches.

I used velcro strips inside front lower bezel and just cut heater filter to set against velcro and in front of my 120mm front fan. Change the filter monthly and all my cards stay clean. More important is that dust acts like a blanket and makes them warmer. When I put the filter on my case, it did not change my case temp at all. Runs 21C with or without the filter.

I run unfiltered then I go to Costco and grab a bottle of Dust Off (compressed air) I just blow away and volia! No more dirty computer 😀

(I'd rather clean my case once every so often then to have a decrease in air flow)

Just buy a air tank..and you got a big massive presure of air to blow out the dust and if you don't have a air compressor to fill it back up again, you can go to like k-mart and fill it up for like 25 cents

I have a cover on my blow-hole fan just so my dumb cat doesnt get his tail in there.....

I have bounce sheets as well.... for like a week my computer was smelling fresh =)
My apartmet next to my Univ is one the first floor and it's kinda by the street so there is a lot of dust, thats my only reason for using them.

I'm kinda lazy to vacuum my case =).
