To Dual Monitor or Not.

So I just purchased a tv tuner card for my computer the Winfast TV2000XP Expert version. I'm currently in college and was thinking, hey I have about 150-200 I could spend on an LCD or a tv. With the dual monitor I could watch tv while doing something else and when I'm not watching TV I can use it as a dual monitor which is really nice luxury to have.

Now the question is, do I just buy a TV? Or do I buy another monitor and use it for TV / Gaming / other stuff.

Whats the logical answer here. Just forget it?

Get a small tv with a combo dvd so you can later record tv shows on your computer and burn them later and watch them in your tv

Larry K -

Is there a good size LCD you can recommend that would be good for TV? (I'll always use my Hyundai for games as it is amazing), also within the price range? Does dell have any deals going on?

If i understand this deal right, if bought before the 15th, The price after rebate would be about $219 for a 19" LCD. Great Price in my opinion.

I also though keep thinking well what if I just bought a TV? I could get a 20 inch TV (GF bought one for $180 (Samsung) ) But for roughly 40 more, I would cough up the dough for that LCD I just mentioned. Thoughts? And can I play a game while having the other LCD have the TV program up? I know I was able to play BF2 and have aim windows up on a previous dual monitor setup and as long as I didn't click it, it remained there. So I'm thinking the TV one would do the same.

Got a single :)

I think the key is to being a college football player and a computer nerd at the same time. Although, I think my GF thinks that I will grow out of this computer stuff, but she doesn't have a problem with it.

But anyways, still looking for advice, newegg appears to have many choices for 19" LCD in the $219-239 range and I would be willing to go with one of those if people can suggest. Or does DELL have some deal?

You should DEFINITELY get a second monitor. You'll be suprised at just how much more productive you'll be with two screens. It's not imperative that you have identical monitors or even sizes for the two screens, but it is a better experience if they are the same. Dell often has coupons - check gotapex.com, slickdeals.net, and bensbargains.net daily.

I'm looking for advice on this particular monitor, Newegg customers give it 5 eggs which is a rareity and it comes with free 3 day shipping! I'm just looking for more advice from people.

Am using the AG Neovo F-419 right now. Nice buy for the price. Still waiting for $70 MIR from the end of June. You might want to factor that into your plans.

Looks like the price has changed to after rebate price of $249.99

Now I'm seeing if I can find any better deals. Help is appreciated.

They also seem to changed shipping to $12 bringing the end price to roughly $262.

Anyone see any better deals?

I got the AOpen F90GS Black 19" 12ms LCD Monitor from NewEgg a couple of days ago, no dead pixels; it plays movies and BF2 just fine. It is $299 plus 12 shpping, and also has a $50 rebate. I have dual monitors at work and at home, and really like the convenience.
