I have a Dell 22" in landscape mode, and a ViewSonic 22" in portrait mode. It's pretty when I want to read comic books in portrait mode.

Just make sure they are the exact same monitor.

And IPS or VA panels so there isn't as much problems with viewing angles.

If you are OCD like me.

Unfortunately, the other monitor i haz is not the same model and LCD only...

Maybe I should get another one of these and sell mine? D:

I personally love 1 big wide screen monitor and 1 smaller non-widescreen for secondary purposes (webpages/videos (while playing games)/etc)

Dual Monitors all the way, I have an older Samsung 22" in and a Dell 19" 4:3 as my side monitor.

I'm fine with 1 at home, which happens to be my work laptop as don't even own a PC of my own at the moment. At work I use dual 23" and couldn't imagine being stuck with 1. Unfortunately they're 16:9, but I've gotten use to it.

This is basically the setup I have. Main 30" IPS secondary 24". I'm planing on using the 2nd monitor more for vintage game consoles though. I use the 30" 99% of the time. I could never go back to using a smaller monitor or even several smaller ones.

What I would do is buy 2 of the other, and plan to sell the one that I have.

Then be lazy and not sell it.

And it will just collect dust on the corner of my desk next to the other unused 24" LCD already there that I upgraded from.

Pheewwww, I managed to cancel the order for the second monitor. Selling my gateway one was going to be a pain in the ass.

It's going to be weird, with one being backlit LED and the other one not...

Well, it could be worse. You can be like those people who bought 2 of those crappy 23" Dell IPS LCDs and they didn't even match up color or viewing angle-wise.

I've been pondering the same question...either a new 27" or two 24" displays. All IPS options...wish I could "test drive" both setups for a week, heh.

Honestly, you can narrow it with 1 question

Do you play High-End games on your computer? (aka. BF3, Skyrim, SCII, etc.)

Answer key:

Yes? Get a 120Hz LED

No? Get IPS panels

I'm gaming on a 30in DELL IPS. I'm sure the refresh rate of this thing is low as can be. I love this screen to death.

Dell U2311h.

There's a big thread at hardforums full of stuff like this:

yea well its a good monitor, not some cherry picked uber monitor:p what did they expect, there is variance, unless they had calibration hardware to dial each in they probably never come out exact from the factory, or else calibration would be entirely unecessary.

backlight uniformity....i'm sure thats industry wide.

anyways they miss the point, ips doesn't have black uniformity, it has color uniformity from most angles.
