To-do list freeware software

I'm looking for some high-quality, easy to use "to-do list" software.

What I'd like is a program that runs in the system tray (I have far too many apps running on the taskbar already when working) and *does not* eat up chunks and chunks of system resources! lol

Anyways, it needs to just be fairly simple so I can stick in notes of stuff I need to get done, possibly with deadlines if required.

Any recommendations folks?

Thanks for your advice,

How about a text file shortcut on the desktop? Notepad won't trigger alarms for you, but 0 system resources and very easy to learn 🙂

Well guys...Post-It Notes seems to be popular so I've downloaded that and I'm trying it out ATM 🙂 If I don't like it I'll take on MonkeyK's suggestion...

Thanks a lot 🙂

I was using Chimp! for a while, the switched to Snippet.
It is tiny, does not need install/deinstall and sits where you want it to be.

Do they have spyware?
I don't see why it would . . . anyway, I scanned with Lavasoft's Ad Aware 5.0 (5.83 [older] build - 2.930) and it couldn't find any either before or after the install (and use).
