I want to upgrade fromm celery 366 to P3-700E.

I know that there has been bios updates and that the last two or three bios support the p3 700.

I really want to be careful because flashing a bios should be a thing that can really ruin your day if it doesn´t work. If any of u recently flashed their BX6 R2, i would greatly appreciate
your help- The FAQ on the Abit site really confuses more then it helps.

EDIT: I just flashed the board. used the nw bios. everything is ok. pheww, I more angst conquered!

Thanks in advance.

Rellik,
I just flashed my mobo with the latest, BXRQR.EXE. Yes, the instructions on Abit site s*uck. Here's what I did, make a bootdisk w/ sys files on it. Then, download the three abit files- abitfae.bat, awdflash.exe and bxrqr.exe. to your hard disk. Next, open the bios file in temp to create a .bin file. Finally, copy the .bin file, awdflash and the .bat file to the floppy. Start your computer in a pure dos environment and at the A: type awdflash>enter. Then follow the instructions, you'll have the opprtunity to save old bios file, then new flash begins. It worked great, go back into bios and check settings for cpu, h.d.d. and time etc. Good Luck.

I'm about to flash my board, but when I click on the abitfae.bat it just opens to the text doc. How did you get around this? I'm guessing copy/paste into notepad and name it abitfae.bat.

Moose - I knew I had to flash in Dos mode. For some reason Netscape was opening the Abitfae.bin file instead of saving it to disk, so I did the old copy/paste into notepad to get the file to disk. I just flashed my board 20 min ago using Abit's directions, worked slick but their program doesn't save (or even ask) the old bios. Now I'm all set to install my Cb0 700e tommorrow, Fed Ex tried to deliver my Slotket!!! today, so I'll have it tommorrow. 933 here I come.
