Demo is great, game is out right? It looks amazing, Ive heard its amazing, and UT was amazing. Do I buy or not?


Oh and btw, does anyone have any experience with Daemon Utilities or Nero burning rom?

Buy.😀 $40 at EB, although roumor has it that it goes up to $50 once it's out.😱
 
Mark Rein(Epic's VP) is saying it might be on shelves as early as Friday.:Q EB is saying Oct. 1 as their date.
 
Look for that $10 mail-in rebate from ebworld also... drops it down to $29.99. 😉 It's in a thread around here entitled BEST WAY TO BUY UT2003 or something to that effect. EDIT>> WOLFMAN linked for ya.

I believe this is as cheap as it will ever get. I had to ask my fiance if I could buy it (we're saving for a down payment on a house the next couple months)... she said no. I said fine, I'll buy it at almost 2 times the price after close on the house. 😉

All in all, UT2k3 is a good game, different from UT, but good nonetheless. Weapons aren't really as balanced as UT in my opinion. I owned everyone with a bunch of rockets. They supposedly tweaked some weapons for the real version, which is likely the first week of October.
 
I'm gonna buy it....I put in about 54643 hours into UT, and I never bought that one 😱 This is looking to be just as good if not better, definitely going the honorable way and buying the real thing this time.

No, don't buy it. Terrible game. Demo's just a come on, they ain't got nothing you want. 😛

Too many dasm people sucking up the 'Net bandwidth already playing the demo on-line. Sheesh, you should see the ping times to the server I play on. :Q

So no, don't buy the game and don't play the demo on-line. 😛 Please......I'm beggin ya....

Well ya gotta buy it. Limited keys to play online... 😉 Word was that they generated a trillion keys and from that keygen, they only placed a certain amount (number of game copies to be produced) of those keys into a database (master server) for online play. Ya can't beat it.

Unless... say... you buy the game, swipe the key, return the game without the key (they didn't even check when I returned it - key was inside, they didn't even look)... you'll have your own key to play with if you managed to dup that CD. Just an idea.

I say if your hardware can run it, buy it. I'm going to get it when I get Doom 3. I need a major hardware upgrade 🙁

Actually, I'll probably build hte new rig some time after Doom 3's release. Just so I have better hardware to Play Quake 4 or whatever else ID has in the works. The biggest problewm I have is that I have to put a deck on my hose next year. 20'x14' or so. Nice big one! So that will be taking alot of cash out of my pocket. Might even get a line of credit or a home improvment loan.
