I know plenty of Christians that lead honest lives and are actually fun to be around. The thing is,
they don't try to force their beliefs on others. They just believe in what they want to believe, which happens to include nice traits like being nice to other people. I know plenty of non religious people that live in the same manner. Bottom line, there's nice people in both categories and, when it comes down to it, the way you are as a person doesn't really change much no matter what religion you subscribe to. The fact that assholes are signing up for Christianity can be encouraging in that it mellows them out a little bit, but it also gives Christians a bad name.
So don't hate.

The nice people are just doing their thing and the assholes can't help it.
Oh yeah, and addressing the OP's question, that bit of logic does make a lot of sense. However, belief is not something you can just divine out of thin air. You actually have to believe it.
