Id just like to get a feel for how many people on here are using this mobo. This will probably be my next choice, and at 142 or so, its a big one. I want to make sure it works great with an Athlon XP 1800+ OEM, 🙂, and Radeon 8500 Retail 64mb. 🙂. Im so excited. I just would like to hear more about it. About to order one within next couple of days. Also could you tell me yours 3dMark2001 se score, and if your overclocking or not. Also please tell me where you bought yours from and how much. Thanks.

I'm using it with an Athlon "C" processor and a GeForce3. I do have my FSB overclocked to 148MHz and I'm running the most aggressive RAM timings and settings you can (with Crucial CAS 2.5 PC2100 DDR SDRAM). You can click on my rig to see the rest my the crap in my box.

My 3DMark2001 SE score is somewhere in the 7,000s (I forget what it exactly is and I'm too lazy to wait the 16 minutes or whatever it is to run the benchmark). Note that I also have my GeForce3 OCed as well (235/545).

Anyway, I had some problems getting a clean install of WinXP done because I have my HDs connected to the Promise controller and the drivers that came with the mobo didn't seem to work as they should... do a search on the forums and you'll turn up a link to some working drivers (I tried the latest drivers from the SOYO website and those didn't work as well).

I like the mobo... it's a nice one (not the fastest but a nie board none the less)

Great board, IMO - lots of features, very stable, and excellent documentation. I had no problems getting the RAID set up with XP - you just need to get the XP drivers from the website before you start, and read the directions. I was overclocking for a while, but stopped after completely rebuilding my system from a catastrophic user error (non-mobo related). I haven't had time to retweak the system yet, but IIRC, I had my FSB at 145 with max RAM settings on Crucial 2100 - never experienced any problems from that. Note that the hardcore OC'ers don't like the board because it lacks DIMM voltage adjustment. So if you're really into pushing the system, that may be an issue. Seemed plenty fast to me, though. The included software bundle contains Norton Anti-Virus 2002 and Ghost 2002, which is nice if you don't have copies already.

Can't say anything about video - I'm still running my old 64MB Radeon VIVO. But I haven't heard of any compatibility issues.

And don't forget the purple PCI slots - they're sexy...

Great board, i really love all the features it has, LAN works great, sound i very good, (sold my sblive now... no longer need it). I'm using the Promise RAID in stripe setup with two IBM 60gxp drives and works great. The issue with the drivers in the Windows XP installation was/is that the install prog. looks for them in the wrong folder, you have to manually place them there to work.

With my ti 200 and xp700+ with no overcloks i get around 6800 in 3DMark2001SE. Overclocking my system to 152FSB (which is now set to) I get 7200. All with best mem timings. The fastes stable FSB i could get was 157, but my mem wouldn't let me go higher, a VDIMM volt adjustmen could come handy when it comes to overclockin, besides that i have nothing else you can name a down...

Been a kick ass board for me. Only problem was my fault on installation (didn't hold down the del key for the Fan control thing, my fan isn't 3 pin). Drove me nuts but I should have paid more attention to the manual 🙁

I've found the manual to be excellent however, especially compared to most others (English is very well done and easy to follow). I still run the BA21 bios (something like that). I had 2 sticks of Crucial 256 PC2100 at the most aggressive timings with 0 problems (the board does have a problem with sandra and will lock, you can read up over at amdmb.com about it. nothing else has problems). When I went to a third stick I had to drop my Command Rate back to 2T (the board is finicky about 3 sticks of ram). So now I run the most aggressive timings but with 2T command rate and it's solid. I normally run 145fsb@+.075 and have done 150, but never left it there long enough to really stress it.

I use the onboard sound, which to me is just as good as my old sb live mp3+ 5.1

I use the onboard lan and it's been great, no problems.

Had a GF3 Ti200 in there at 225/440 (could do a bit higher on the core) and at 145 fsb was doing ~8200 (8176 was the highest I think) with the 22.80 dets.
I had an extra nic in there (one for the cable modem, one for another computer) and a 2nd video card and other than the normal headaches of going dual monitors, nothing major. Been extremely stable (XP Pro).

Also use the RAID 0 thing with two 30gig 7200rpm Maxtors. Seems fast to me 🙂

I just installed my GF4 Ti4400 and finished dling 3dmark2001se, will report back with the score.

Edit: BTW, I'm running a XP1800 OEM with ASII, Alpha 8045, and a YS Tech 49cfm fan.

Edit2: Out of the box PNY GF4 Ti4400 is 10163 in 3dmark2k1se. With command rate 1T set would probably be ~100-150 more. Currently 3rd in cpu class.

I love mine, but I had to have it replaced once. The actual plug in the back for speaker out was messed up a bit and I could only get left or right, not both at once. Anyway, new one is in there now and works great.
