if i was a hacker, i wouldnt waste my time trying to hack 4% of the computers either. i would target the bigger bunch, and that is why macs are safer.

We're not picking specifically on Macs here, but if you watch those 'Get a Mac' commercials enough, it eventually makes you want to stab one of those users in the eye with a lit cigarette or something
I love this guy.

yeah i dont see how this is mac specific.

It isn't, but again like the article says, they targeted Macs because Mac users have this false sense of security.

I'm not going to be losing any sleep over this. But you enjoy running your virus scanners and spyware detectors and looking at your lovely BSOD's...I'll be over here, you know, doing actual work.

Are these BSODs you speak of? I haven't ran spyware detectors for a long time either because I don't install random ******.

Hrm... I was expecting a picture of your average store shelf witha 99/1 PC/Mac software average.

They look great. They run great. But I don't think I have even find 1 piece of software in my town for it.

ive had 2 in my 12 year computer history, and i even ran windows 3.1 and 95 frequently...and i dont have even 1/10 of the experience of some people so i dont know why people focus on BSODs. the fact of the matter is people who own macs are smug a$$holes most of the time and that comment proves it.

Have you updated today? Security holes do exist in Mac OS X. They just aren't actively exploited. Security by obscurity ftl?

this quote from the OP's article is priceless....

This whole debate got me switched to Mac. There is no doubt the OSX is secure, besides being rock solid, easier to use and prettier. I don't care if the Mac gets a few vulnerabilities as I'm confident Apple will fix them swiftly. After all Apple doesn't have the huge problems Microsoft has with Windows and Office.

I'm delighted with my switch to Mac and from what I see the Mac community isn't made up of hackers and swindlers. Its made up of honest decent people like me getting on with their lives.
