Well it was actually a city council woman who was asking for payback... which was needed because the city government blew the budget out of the water.

Anyway... in the spirit of Christmas I won't do any more inflammatory OPs.

Nothing to hide behind. The thread is genuinely about the gall of the councilwoman in Detroit. The rest comes from the expectation that the inhouse wing nuts take offence to anything like this being posted. Just look through any number of threads here. Any thread gets quickly labeled as republican whining or faux outrage.

Hell, I want to post about the $249 million given to a battery manufacturer that is now owned by the Chinese. The Chinese got a steal thanks to the American taxpayer. But it is faux outrage and republican whining and I don't have time today to reply to all the wingnuts that would come in and defend obama.

The governments support of A123, in this case its the DOE, pre-dates the Obama admin.

Furthermore, the assets (2 plants) created by that grant are being sold to an American company.

Also, the DOE program which is funding these types of initiatives was created by Congress.
