Most of you guys know that I was out of work for a long time and struggled to stay positive. I took my current job because it was a job. The pay wasn't supposed to be great and its in a boring call center. Well I have been there a little over 6 weeks and things are going great. The money is better than they described and it turns out that I work with some friends from way back (middle school even).

My point is that things will work out if you try to stay positive. Don't be afraid to take chances. Things always work out in the end.

Also, bullshit on "be patient and shit will work out." Get out there, make an effort. You have to make it work out. Nothing will happen if you just wait for shit to work out.

I just found out that the $500 (+$50 for the book):| physics refresher course I am taking, which took away the last of my available cash, will be dumfck-easy...it's a six week course that doesn't even have any homework*

I just found out that I cannot bailout my dad out of fuked-ville by paying his car insurance bill since I just found out that it already posted from his bank account tonight. I have no cash to help with the overdraft fees. poor bastard

sigh.... I just bought him diner since he hadn't eaten all day...poor guy

at least I have some free time aside from the 20hrs of class this week; time to work on the certifications I guess**


*that's playing with fire in a regular course, much less the hell that a six-week course can entail

I'm in the same boat as the OP. 2008 was probably my worst year ever. But 2009, while shaping up to be a lot of hard work, will probably be one of my best.

I've always had a positive attitude and have the knack to make any situation work for me in a positive way.

It doesn't matter if it was at work or in jail, I make the best of the situation, learn from it and use that info to make a positive change.
