To ACPI or not to ACPI ?????

Someone I kow told me it's best to install Windows 2000 without ACPI so not to have all my devices on 1 or 2 IRQ's. What are the benefits and draw backs of not using ACPI??

The person who told you not to have all items on 1 IRQ is a little mis-informed, and should probably read this.

The only reason not to use ACPI is if you have buggy hardware or BIOS components.
