TNT2 Ultra scores higher than Geforce 256!

Can anyone tell me why? I'm very confused. I've tried both the Geforce 256 and Geforce 2 GTS and my system actually runs the 3Dmark2001 significantly lower with the Geforce cards.

Scored 961 with TNT2 Ultra (Diamond)
Scored 563 with Geforce 256 (Dell OEM)
Scored 601 with Geforce 2 GTS (Asus 7700 Pure)

All with Abit BH6, 256 PC133 Crucial ram.
Using Detonator 6.50 drivers.

 
try other detonator drivers... mebbe the lower ones favor the tnt2. also, what cpu do you have? if yer running an oc'd celeron @800 (in yer sig), i think the scores are a big low. mebbe there's some other problem.
 
You have sth. screwed up badly, even Geforce2 MX is faster than TnT2 Ultra (aren't you confusing it with GF2 Ultra ?). Try to test with sth. other than 3Dmark (like real game or sth), I have always belived that those 3Dmark's scores are just random numbers. i think detotantor 6.50 should be OK.
 
Acutally from my own tests of many of the detonator versions, 6.50 should favour the GF series slightly. The best driver for the TNT2 series was the 5.xx (mainly between 5.30 and 5.45).

Something is wrong there though as the GF 256 SDR card was at worst only marginally slower than the TNT2 Ultra and usually faster in everything. Did you re-install the drivers after changing each card? Even though its the same driver set, it may be the problem.
 
Something is seriously screwed up, you should be getting roughly three and a half times the score you posted with the GF2, hmmmm...

Have you had any non nVidia cards in the machine since your last format?

What are your scores at 640x480 16bit?
 
I have a DDR in my athlon 750 system and got 1834 in 3Dmark 01' and my other athlon 700 with a TNT2 ultra (diamond) only scored 926. Make SURE you have the proper AGP drivers installed from your motherboards chipset manf.
 
I'm thinking the same thing about AGP drivers. But haven't found any for my BH6.
I'm using WIN98SE, DX 8, Det 6.50, and I have the same problem with either a Geforce 256 or Geforce 2 GTS. They are both not utilized. The TnT2 Ultra runs the 3DMark2001 better than both of those.
I've reinstalled Win98SE, Direct X 8, Detonator 6.5, 10.80beta, INTEL INF drivers.

Has me REALLY stumped.
