TNT2 DirectX?

Probably a stupid question, but what version of DirectX were the TNT cards designed for? I know the Geforce2's were 7, and Geforce3's are 8, so I'm assuming 6.x.

Also, is there a FAQ somewhere that describes the features implemented in each DirectX release? I've tried Microsoft's DirectX developer website, but it's not exactly user friendly. Just the basics would be fine.

Thanks,

Honestly, the TNT1/2 series is designed to meet every DX6 specification, and most of the DX7 spec (apart from Hardware T&L).

It should have full support for most if not all DX7 and DX8 commands through software emulation by either the detonator drivers of DirectX itself.

The TNT2 series was designed for DiectX6 and meets DirectX 6 specifications in hardware. Naturally DX7 and 8 are backwards compatible and capable of being run with the TNT2 series though it doesn have hardware support for all DX7 and 8 features.
