Ah the good old days. My dad told me when he was a kid they bought roman candles and shot them at each other. When I was growing up the chief of police lived at the end of the block and on the 4th the closed off the end of the street and set off all the stuff they confiscated so far.

i'm 18 and we've had roman candle wars.

Wow, I never knew that you could buy fireworks in the US (legally I mean). The only place I ever knew to get them was Chinatown where sketchy guys (who weren't Chinese oddly enough) stood around with hoods over their heads and whispered to you.

I remember this as a kid as well. Although in the San Francisco Chinatown, the sketchy guys were chinese, and we had to go through all these back alleys, hand offs to other guys, etc. But it was the only way to get the good stuff. Must have been 20 years ago. I haven't fired a Sky Rocket, bottle rocket, or roman candle since.

If I ever have kids I think I'll take them to a state that allows real fireworks for the 4th...at least a few times.

I miss not being able to have fireworks, but considering most of Arizona is on fire I understand. Local TV has been pushing a lot of ads to remind our gun-tards that firing into the air is not a good substitute for fireworks. Anyone else get those types of PSAs? Hopefully fewer than the traditional 3 people die of random bullets falling to earth this 4th.

i work for tnt, and i recommend the delirium and the night treasure for best bang for the buck action

Its all B&M and varies from club to club.

We have everything from the small party packs, to the massive proffesional type kit thats like $279.

Interesting, I'll have to give a shot one of these days. Then again it still beats driving hours away just to pick up some!

Wow. I thought they sold fireworks everywhere.

Around here, in Alabama, there are shops all over the place to buy fireworks. Our city has a firework show, etc. I am hearing fireworks as I type this also.

Now there are rules in some cities that you can't shoot them, etc.. so that does suck.

you can get the real deal at the pennsylvania/maryland line in a town called breezewood pa (Phantom Fireworks). you have to sign the form and not be a pennsylvania resident. funny thing is that maryland doesnt allow anything but sparklers and some counties have a ban on those as well.

i think all fireworks and explosives should be legal everywhere. we have effectively stopped human evolution by ensuring that idiots cannot kill themselves.

That's why God invented Indiana and Wisconsin. Plenty to be had there. You only need to sign forms in Indiana.
I'm only 14 miles from Wisconsin, I visit often! LOL

Nothing really powerful in there, i purchased the same kit last year, over down yonder at the costco's. I combined all the powder in one big bomb and tried to blowded up my shed, but i was unsuccessful. So i got drunk slapped my wife and kicked my neighbors dog.

I guess the form is just some legal waiver so they can try to wiggle out of things? Otherwise I can't buy from them 😛

Heh, I live five miles from the WI border but still drove over two hours to Sheltons in IN to get some fireworks today. The prices by me are outrageous in WI, two to three times the price I pay at Sheltons in IN.

the form states that you are going to take the fireworks out of the state within a certain time period and that you will not set any off within the state.

I live about 20 minutes from Indiana 🙂. Just don't plan on taking anything over the border around the 4th.

I just bought the same pack from my Costco here in Morrow GA. This is my first year outside of California, so my kids are pretty stoked to see these.

Wow! I looked at them and though they'd be crappy. This is the first yer in GA you can legally purchase these things. One caveat - what is legal to purchase cannot fly in the air more than twenty feet so IMO most of the good stuff wil be missing from these packages. Though I guess it is ok a trip to Alabama for the "real" stuff is in order.
