I was wondering what a decent overclock for the core/mem of a tnt2ultra is. I have just the standard cooling on it. it is a creative brand.

TIA

I had an Asus V3800 TNT2 Ultra... I was able to get 178/220...with the standart cooling...Default clock was 150/185 i think..

Default should be 150MHz core, 183MHz memory.

In terms of overclocking, if you can push the core up to 180MHz and the memory past 200MHz without any problems, you are doing well.

I think 180/200 core/RAM is a reasonable overclock for TNT2 Ultras. I had one back in the day (first TNT2 Ultra ever to come out, the LeadTech TNT2 ultra w/ 5.5ns RAM) and I got it up to 185/205. Hell, with OR without a heatsink it ran 185 core. Heatsink didn't help anything much but to block an extra PCI slot and make for an extra piece of hot metal in my case.

Then I ran it up on a 100MHz AGP bus by accident and its half dead now hehehe.

I think I can say this without too much disagreement from the other forum members, SonicTron you nutter ;)
