?And that?s when the gentleman just looked at the mayor and said, ?I just want you to know that you?ve killed me.? And about that time, he pulled the gun from his right pants pocket, stuck it in his mouth and pulled the trigger.?

? Charles Cureton

Wow, even @ the risk of losing my business I don't see it being worth ending my life over. Apparently his wife was also @ the meeting when it happened. Sad.

Is it just me or do the first two paragraphs say the exact same thing:

Cureton was in City Council Chambers when Clarksville businessman Bo Ward, owner of Bo?s Barber Shop on Fort Campbell Boulevard, committed suicide Thursday evening before the Council and an estimated fifty people attending the meeting after a zoning request he was seeking was denied a reading.

Few words can adequately describe the horror that unfolded in City Council chambers tonight as Clarksville businessman Bo Ward, proprietor of Bo?s Barber Shop on Fort Campbell Boulevard, pulled out a handgun and shot himself to death before the council and approximately 50 other people.

Reminds me of the Office episode where Michael tries out like 5 beginnings to his speech at the wedding... but they seem to have forgotten to delete a paragraph so, no, you aren't crazy.

In a way I think it is a good thing that he did it. All too many town/city councils think that their actions don't have a measurable negative impact. Maybe it will serve as a needed wakeup call.

that was pretty stupid

maybe he had a nice life insurance policy and his family is now set.

I don't think they pay death benefits for suicide.

Some do some don't. If you are considering this you need to check your policy :). Some offer a reduced amount, some offer the full amount if you had the policy for a certain period of time, etc etc.

We had this discussion @ lunch.

at least he didnt take anyone w/ him.
however, he's left some people scarred for life.
seeing something like that go down would definitely fvck me up for a while.
incredibly selfish act.
