TMPGEnc does not support MPEG2 . . . .

Sorry about the slightly off topic question, but I need a little help with TMPGEnc Beta 12d/e. I used to be able to load MPEG2 files in TMPGEnc, but ever since I installed Directx 8.0a and WinDVD 2000 2.3 (which I subsequently uninstalled), it says "File ... cannot open or unsupported." MPEG1 files till work fine. I think WinDVD somehow messed something up but I don't know how to fix it. I tried reinstalling PowerDVD 3.0 to no avail.

Can someone help? My OS is Win2k. Thanks in advance for the help.
