TMPGEnc conversions with subtitles

TMPGEnc has problems converting some subtitled films. It seems that it will not convert those that do not play using windows media player 9. I can play these films using BSPlayer but WMP9 refuses to play them and I do not know if there is a way to set up TMPGEnc to convert using BSPlayer 😕 The subtitles are not hardcoded, they are a separate file. Also sometimes TMPGEnc brings up two sets of subtitles, a small set and a large set, i can get rid of one set by turning off the subs in ffdshow, but why does this happen in the first place? I have tried removing the subtitle files into different sections but that just plays the film with no subtitles, so they are definately not hardcoded onto the film in the first place. :frown:
