The best news, this plan is just $30 for Classic Plan customers and $20 for Value Plan customers and is available for all account types, including Small Business, Enterprise and in Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, the plan cannot be combined with the Smartphone Mobile Hotspot (tethering), as customers who want to add the Mobile Hotspot should continue to choose from the 5GB and 10GB rate plan options instead.

Not a prepaid plan though. In my opinion, its good that TMO is started to be aggressive. I think they've got strengths, and need to play to them. Their network is poor compared to AT&T and Verizon, and that will cause people to leave for other carriers. They need to market and play to their strengths while investing heavily in their network.

Things like this plan and the spectrum swap deal in the works with Verizon are good.

why. oh god why. what is the freaking difference. especially nowadays where your phones have hdmi out so really, just hook it into a monitor, setup a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and have a desktop computer, and htpc, and a cellphone all in one. and it would be perfectly legal according to these terms.

Because you could easily tether and pull obscene amounts of data easily. Sure, you can stream Netflix and Youtube and such and easily run up the data. But, how long does the average cell battery last last doing that? A desktop, or laptop on AC power, lasts until the user gets bored. And then there's the OS updates, general web browsing, game client patching, and other everyday tasks that will run the GBs up.

Good price and will be very competitive against the major carriers.

Taxes and fees(which usually add up to around 18.5% of your monthly bill) kill it for me unfortunately.
At this point, I'm not sure if I can ever go back to post-paid plans.

Virgin Mobile offered unlimited 3G data for $40.00/month two years ago.

Just two problems for me.

1. At my exact address, Virgin Mobile promised me a very strong signal. And delivered me a weak signal from an overloaded tower. Meaning I could only stay connected in the wee hours of the morning, later on in the day I got booted out after 5 minutes or could not connect at all.

2. That $40.00 was only a teaser rate for 2-3 months, after that it went up to $50.00 a month with a 5 GB cap.

Been paying $20 for unlimited data with VZW for years on the business account. Tethering/hotspot not included (not officially anyway).

About time little old t-mobile caught up!

If you live in their LTE coverage zones, MetroPCS also offers an unlimited LTE package for ~55/month. But their phones are gutter trash.

i could run torrents on the phone/newsgroups too. not a problem. extract files to the desktop. do this at home while connected via USB and it would run forever.

do this at home or at work and you're golden
