Have been thinking to switching to one of these providers from verizon. Was wondering if anyone had experience with them in terms of coverage? I know that with tmobile pic messages can get to some people days later didn't know if boost was any better.

I don't have any info regarding coverage, but there are some network differences:

Tmobile = GSM
Boost = old iDEN (Nextel) network

Although I understand there are ways to get CDMA phones activated on Boost now...

Well it really depends. Even with Boost there are certain phones that are CDMA and not iDen and don't have to do any trickery. I don't know which phones they are though.

Unless you want the chirp feature or one of their phones MetroPCS is better than Boost, and much cheaper. MetroPCS uses the Sprint network so coverage should be good most places, the same as Boost. If you don't need a ton of minutes the 200 minutes + unlimited data/email/text for $25 a month from Virgin Mobile is a crazy good deal. They use the Sprint network too.

Isn't Page Plus the best deal going right now?

I use about 800 minutes per month, so I'm on their $29.99 1200min/1200text/50mb plan.

I believe most of the phones on Boost are CDMA now...probably hybrid actually. They should have Sprint's coverage area. I have an old Nextel (2002 I think) i60 that I keep activated on Boost, but it's iDEN only.

Definitely check out Page Plus also, as they use the Verizon network.

I do not have metro pcs in my area but pocket wireless idk if they operate on the same network. I know people who have tmobile now in my service area and get terrible service compared to verizon.
