I'm a little new into the ROM thing.
I heard if you do it wrong, our phone will turn into a brick.
I guess I'll try with the official ROM update first so if I do phuck it up, I'll be covered.

I flashed the new official yesterday. It seems ok. I'm not noticing anything drastically different or anything. I was already running a custom ROM before, though.

edit: One thing that HAS changed is that Swype is updated, and definitely seems better than the old Swype.

Thats incorrect. You cannot brick a phone by flashing it. Ive tried intentionally bricking a Touch Pro, and was unsuccessful. I tried flashing a GSM ROM on to a CDMA phone. Ive tried flashing an incorrect radio. But each time, you can always get back to the bootloader, which means you just reflash. Has it EVER happened? Perhaps, but Ive never read of it happening and Im an avid flasher and involved on XDA and ppcgeeks.

The first couple of times can be intimidating. But, both on ppcgeeks and XDA there are stickies outlining the process. If you follow the directions, its cake.

That is somewhat true if you are using a custom ROM for the HD2 make sure you get the T-Mobile Compatible on. If you get one designed for the European version of the phone you will brick it and as of right now there is no guarantee way to unbrick it. As long as you know you have a T-Mobile version ROM you would have a hard time bricking this phone.
