TMO lit up LTE yesterday for most of manhattan???

I'm on tmo prepaid, and LTE is up and running in northern NJ on my nexus 4.

Reception inside seems a LOT better.

N4 has all the required hardware for AWS LTE. You need to go into the radio settings via a dialer code or activity shortcut and enable a network mode that includes LTE. The shipping baseband allowed the user to select this setting. The latest baseband makes it so the user can't enable any LTE modes.
