So apparently it's still early in development but it'll come out at some point. They've got a Turtle van driving around SoCal with a demo of the game. Looks pretty rad.

At last week's Galabunga events in NYC, the debut of the Turtles' Party Van also revealed that a "new" TMNT video game - not the already revealed "Smash-up" game for the Wii - was in development. New, yet a game all TMNT fans are familiar with: "Turtles in Time." Only now it's been updated using modern 3D graphics. Mega TMNT fan Jason Koza was at the event (in his Casey Jones costume!) and provides the following info and pics of the game.

* The game is set up and directly taken from TMNT Turtles in Time.
* Right now it's only going to be for Xbox Live, but they're working on bringing it to Wii (Virtual Console?).
* It has the same music as the old game.
* Only the levels "Alleycat Blues" and "Skull and Crossbones" were playable.
* The only difference noticed was the bosses for the "Skull and Crossbones" is Tokka and Rahzar (unlike the original, which had Bebop and Rocksteady).
* For Alleycat Blues the boss is still Metalhead.
* The game is basically Turtles in Time with new graphics - Awesome!

I just saw that and came to post this here. I love that this is a remake and they are upgrading from 2D to 3D. :thumbsup:

Weird... weren't Tokka and Rahzar (together) a boss in a later level?

Absolutely. I'm sure licensing is an issue now, but I wish they'd remake the old X-Men arcade games and Captain America & The Avengers too.

Holy shit thats awesome. Wish there were more screenshots and less photos of people dressed up in rubber costumes. Still, looks fucking awesome.

This is going to be XBLA exclusive? I may have just been convinced to buy an xbox 360..

Joystiq says they are getting reports that it could come to PSN and the Wii as well but nothing has been confirmed. It's only being shown on the 360 right now.

I'd say it's probably certain to come to PSN. Don't know about Wii because of storage issues.

Oh man, those were classics for sure. Lord knows how may tokens I spent on those and Turtles in Time at Aladdin's Castle.

Yeah Tokka and Rahzar were in the Technodrome in the original, which I think was an earlier level.

Er, just read the ninja-piza website. Apparently in the arcade, Tokka and Rahzar are the bosses on Skull and Crossbones. And there is no Technodrome level. That'd be nice if they had the Technodrome for this game though.

Also, the name "Ninja Pizza" is so full of win.
 
Awesome news. This is how rereleasing old games should be done (upgraded graphics), as established by Bionic Commando: Rearmed.

Yep. There were three different cabinets made. 2, 4, and 6 players.
 
That's sweet. IN my lifetime the only game I played more than TMNT4 was Super Mario 3. I am looking forward to it.
 
I played the crap out of this game back when I was a kid and listening to that soundtrack brings back some memories. I will definitely be getting this.

Wow, it looks badass. I'm glad they changed the perspective just enough to where there doesn't seem like there's going to be much of a problem lining up your attacks right, which happened a bit in the original. I'm excited 😀
