Tivo

Are you asking if you should get a monthly subscription instead of a lifetime subscription? If so, that depends on the length of time you are intending to keep the box. You'd have to keep the box for two years for the lifetime plan to be worthwhile for you. If you opt for the lifetime plan you can still add more space to your TiVo by replacing or adding hard drives without affecting your status. It's really up to you.

Yeah I think the lifetime sub. applies to the box, so i don't think you can get a new tivo and apply the lifetime sub to it. So like he said ti basically depends on how long you inten to keep it.

I'd wait until the new tivos come out to do the lifetime sub, if your Tivo dies and it has a lifetime sub. You loose the subscription...

they were talking about releasing a Tivo that did nto need the sub. now if can remember where i read that..

I have 3 TiVos that are all on monthly subscriptions. One of them is in my fiancees apartment so once we get married I'll probably cut my Toshiba unit back to basic to save a bit of money. Basic is only available on boxes that specifically state they have it (typically units with DVD players or burners) and only shows programming 3 days in advance without the option for season passes or home networking.
