planning on getting a Leadtek from newegg.com and an extra HDD. i'm wondering if the rpm and disk cach will play any role in recording. would and "older" 5200rpm with a 2meg cache work just fine? figured i could pick up some of those "older" drives used a lot cheaper.

TV Broadcast quality/resolution isn't enough to tax a modern 5200rpm drive. I wouldn't sweat it...

I've used slow-arsed drives for much heavier recording (DV) with no real issues.
