Tivo Owners... Anyone having trouble doing the initial setup?

I think I am doing everything right... but it says that there is an error each time i try. Sometimes it says that the initializaiton failed.. other times it says the service is not available..

I'm ready to throw the Tivo out the window. Anyone else have trouble?
 
Double and triple check everything.

Does the phone line work, do you get a dial tone?

Is it VOIP (Vonage, Packet8, SunRocket, etc.) or regular phone service?

Are you dialing with the correct area and adding a 9 or 1 (if necessary)?

Is the phone cord plugged into the correct hole?

Hey Ross! Thank you for the help!! You guys are awesome!! The problem was because I have DSL at home and I guess there was interference with the line noise. So, I put on a DSL filter and the connection was flawless!! So, now i'm using tivo!

But Tivo wasn't able to find my cable tv provider, so I am working with them to add our channel lineup. I live in an apartment complex that has their unique channel lineup.

How easy is that for Tivo to send me an unique lineup? Thanks again!
