Yeah but BeyondTV can't record HD from a digital signal, now can it? 😉 The best it currently has is the Hauppauge HD PVR, which only does component. The TivoHD can record HD and easily lets you transfer it to your Mac and now schedule it on your iPhone. I currently have a dual-tuner Vista Media Center as well and HD is just a headache. No thanks. Plex + Tivo ftw 🙂

For a guy that's having fun working w/ all things hackintosh, I really wouldn't have expected that answer 🙂 You are correct, though.

BTV doesn't have HDMI support, but with the HD PVR, component works. As far as I know, component has bandwidth for 1080p, so that'll work for me. I've found that to be a more convenient experience than fooling with CableCards.

Tivo's nice, but the monthly subscription and locking down my content kills it for me. I know they've made some portable to an extent, but it's still DRM'ed, right?

Vista MC is awful, let's not even talk about that 🙂 I tried it, lasted 30 mins before I went back to BTV.
