Price is now £960 HAHAHA

What a joke

Can buy 3x 670 GTX for that or 3.5 7970's

£960 is what? 1,470$ ???

Holy fudge buckets who pays nearly 1500$ for a GPU?

The come in and out of stock on amazon, newegg, and tiger direct. You gotta set up notifications.

Some people have to much money lmao.

US price:

3x7970ghz = $449 x 3 = $1347

1xTitan = $999

3x7970Ghz : 16% faster than 1 single GTX Titan. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_Titan_SLI/23.html

Power consumption through the roof with the 7970s. Make a hell lot more noise. Latency and stuttering all over the place. 35% more expensive than a Titan.

GTX Titan, quiet operation, low power consumption, absolutely smooth gameplay. 26% cheaper than 3x7970s.

You enjoy your AMD cards with a measly 15% better performance. I`d pick the smooth aluminum quiet Titan over a plastic stuttering noisy powersucking setup anyday of the week.
My opinion

I think just two 7970s would be at least 15% faster than a Titan in terms of average framerate...that said, frame latency, aka "observable framerate" probably better on the Titan.

What planet are you on? 2x 7950s are faster than a Titan.

I think 3 7970 is a bit more than 16% faster than 1 Titan. Let's get real. The Titan isn't that fast.

Can you guys not read? Seriously I posted a link as proof. Or don`t you know math? This is TechPowerUp. They tested almost 20 games, the biggest review out there which makes them a heck more reliable than the reviews that tested 4-5 games

3x7970 is 5% slower than Titan

3x7970 is 16% faster than GTX Titan

3x7970 is 36% faster than GTX Titan

In average, that is +16% for 3x7970 over Titan

That is with games that are CPU bound or are not demanding at all. Let's get real Titan=7970@1250/1700. Comparing a single titan to 3x7970 is just silly.

RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH

If 1 690 GTX is way more powerful than Titan then 2x7970 is WAY more powerful than Titan. 3x 7970 would MURDER Titan.

And here we have a classic example of the Average Joe who don`t know how GPUs scale.

Maybe its time you start reading what I`m writing: Techpowerup tested almost 20 games. You get a WAY better aspect on the average performance over two GPUs than a review that tested 4-5 games. I`m not saying that 3x7970s won`t crush Titan in some games (which TPU shows if you read the review), but it evens out the more games you have on your test bench.

In demanding modern Titles such as BF3, Far Cry 3, Crysis 3 the 7970's kick Titans overpriced ass. FACT.

GPU's can scale perfectly well with 2 cards most likely being 90% FPS increase. and 3rd card can be hit or miss. You only have to look at how well the 690 GTX kicks Titans ass. In fact 2 x 670 GTX would also beat Titan for 2/3 of the price.

SLI and CF scale nearly double for 2 cards these days.

Oh and BTW the 7970 clocks like a BEAST and the Titan cant clock for shit. 7970 scales with clock speed also!

You need to go to much higher res I think to see much difference. From the graphs you posted, if the margin is getting bigger as the resolution increases, it seems as though the 3x7970 are CPU bottlenecked badly at 2560x1600 and below.

For me, desire to see heavier GPU examples to investigate scaling -- for example: games with heavy alpha test areas are prime candidates with higher levels of transparency AA added or how do titles scale with super-sampled?

You don`t get what I`m saying to you.

Example.

Assassin Creed. GTX Titan destroy 3x7970. And they scale badly.
ac3_2560_1600.gif

Battlefield 3. 3x7970 completely destroy 1xTitan (over 2x the performance)
bf3_2560_1600.gif

Borderlands. GTX Titan wins. 7970 scale badly
borderlands2_2560_1600.gif

Sleeping Dogs. 3x7970 destroy Titan.
sleepingdogs_2560_1600.gif

--------------------------------------------------------

And it goes on and on and on. From badly ported multiplat games, to bad scaling, to Nvidia having better optimizations, to physx making the difference, to excellent scaling with 3x7970, etc. When you test bigger amount of games you get a better view on the average performance.

We can argue all day long, throw examples at each other, I`m just posting whatever the TPU review found.

As far as the 7970ghz CFX comparisons here, I think a lot of this is driver problems that can be fixed. I'm not out here to defend or bash either company, but amd's cfx driver optimization is awful as it stands right now but there is definitely the possibility that it could get much better.
