We can safely assume that will be enough lifeboats for all passengers and crew just in case? Remember a large part of the death toll was due to not enough of those for everyone, and some were launched not even half full.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Of course there was also the locking of the gates leading into coach class as well.:mad::mad:

I'm also assuming that the aollys now use in shipbuilding now are considerably stronger then what was used in the Titanic.

Shorty made a career out of running aground in San Francisco bars.

I hope they spend hundreds of millions in advertising campaigns to convince people that the ship is 100% unsinkable. That's how to build public trust.

Let's hope it cruises the same route as the original. Second time's the charm?

Bet passengers will want to own some Titanic merch based on the original vessel.

Looks like it's built by Blue Star Line this time around though.

Reminds me: I have this book from 1914.

Stupid question, but I thought Harbors and Bays and supposed to dredge every so often to prevent this sort of thing happening for large ships passing through.

I don't know what the investigation result was, but the article mentioned uneven thrust pushed it towards the sand banks. And a pilot switch happened not long before it happened so.

I thought this would be about a sequel to the movie. I was hoping for a German U-boat rescue of Leo, amnesia, and rediscovery.
I was hoping for the Titanic to sink after 30 minutes and get the movie over with.

I thought there was already a copy of the Titanic. It also sank.

...and the Olympic, which was damaged shortly after it launched, but had a decently long service after that. Honestly, ship building really went through a lot of major changes between the 1850 and mid 1950. I don't doubt the quality and thickness of steel....and welds was questionable. I don't really know what I'm talking about, but just assuming the brits got more experience building steel hull ships after the world wars started up.

Yeah, and we still had the Exxon Valdez, the Costa Concordia. MS Estonia, the Dona Paz and dozens of others. Modern shipbuilding, thicker steel and better welds are no defense against stupid and lazy.

There are cruise ships nowadays that are 5x the size of Titanic.

Titanic II disappoint.

yeah, I was about to post that image.

wtf were the designers thinking when they thought up the Titanic II?
how on earth will it compete with the luxury/amenities of the modern cruise ship?

of course it will be sold out at the beginning because of curiosity.
then what?
how will it compete?
