Heh so much like me you caved. I wasn't going to get it, then I was in wait and see mode, then I said "what the hell I need some games anyway" and bought it.

Ok cool...gonna do that first then.

i never was going to not get it, i just wasn't in a rush to get it and might as well play it while everyone else is playing it so it'll be more fun. i enjoyed the beta.

That's not what I meant. Just that you had the same idea as me, need something to play.

yeah i am content with killer instinct, and with fulgore and hopefully lobbies just around the corner, i'll probably start playing it more. i've just been busy with other stuff too. but my brother and bro in law both got titanfall so might as well get it to game with them while they are on it.

Got it today. First game I've done the digital download on. Haven't had any connection problems and it's a fun game. Still getting my feet wet but enjoying it so far.

Ok cool...gonna do that first then. Unfortunately I still can't sign in to XBL. This is going on 24 hours now. I have tried the full restart as MS suggests and still no go. Gonna wait a bit then try again.

That sucks. I wasn't able to login last night either and was hoping to tonight when I get home from work.

EDIT: If I do manage to get on, my gamertag is: twoMoreMinutes

So feel free to add me if your team is doing too well and you need someone to drag down your numbers :)

I have had more fun with TF than I have with any game in a log time, it is great for people who suck at fps online

I managed to finally log in to XBL and I'm trying to figure out this game. Honestly I can't see people fast enough most of the time heh.

I'll have to get used to the speed of this. Been probably 10 years since I've played a fast FPS like this. I was also playing around with the control setups and I think I like bumper jumper pilot the best cause you can aim while jumping.

I'm doing the campaign but I don't know what's going on in it, It's pretty fun even though I die more often than not. If anyone wants to do some of the campaign or something I'm dreddedone on XBL.

Friended. I was similarly awful at the Beta. Almost done downloading the final if you want to play this evening.

Sure, might be better to play with someone who is familiar with the game a bit.

Is assassin easier to play than the standard soldier with assault rifle in the beginning, what about CQB? I'm not leveled up enough to make a custom loadout yet. I only did one match before running out to the store to get stuff for dinner. I'm just wondering if one is a little easier for noobs.

As someone with shit twitch reflexes, I prefer the assassin by a lot. It also shows where grunts are on the radar when playing assassin which helps quickly get a Titanfall.

I've just been trying that and it does seem a bit better. I dunno how they figure out matchmaking but I'm always teamed up with people below lv15 in campaign against people lv20+ and any time someone joins our side who is higher lvl they drop out when they see we are new.

1. I really wish they had a full-blown campaign for this game. Looks like an interesting setting, and I play FPS for campaign

2. Expect good things. MW2 really impressed me a great deal.

The campaign is more like a series of matches with a few lines about what you're doing and then a few lines of chatter between what is supposed to be commanders or something. It's tough to catch as most of the dialog happens when you're fighting or trying to reach the evac. Speaking of evac, I wish you could respawn there. Even if they only allowed you to do it once. I've gotten hosed while fighting then it calls for evac and then I get shot in the back and can't respawn lol.

That's how all FPS are when they're new. Before long the ultra-no-lifers will take it over like they always do. Along they way they will try to *balance* things by boosting this and nerfing that, but the guys who play 300+ hours a month will always own the crap out of everyone else.

Being 6v6 with smallish maps is only going to exacerbate that fact.

This is not a dig on TF, but just an observation on FPS games in general. This ALWAYS happens, without exception, and has been like this since Doom.

One thing that kind of totally ruins the game is how a single melee hit kills you. They need to change that like yesterday. Especially when you're unloading into a guy and he just kicks you. That's stupid...not to mention I saw a guy kill two people back to back by kicking them. Maybe it should stun you, but not kill you outright unless you're already low health.

Yea I notice this too. It's just that titanfall is noob friendly. Still doesn't stop people that do nothing but spend time on it, after all it's mp only.

this is the exact thing/feeling i noticed when i played the beta. i don't really play fps anymore and when i did i was always middle of the pack or towards the bottom and i felt pretty useless. but in titanfall, i was actually contributing when we won or loss and was doing pretty good all around. there is something about it that makes you do okay even if you are not that good at fps games.

Yeah even when I'm near the bottom of the scoreboard I still feel like what I was doing mattered. In BF3/BF4 for example I could be doing fantastic but it never feels like I made a difference and if I just messed around with vehicles it wouldn't matter. With Titanfall I am usually on the bottom of the score list because I don't know the maps well enough for the modes where you need to capture locations and I end up wandering around too much looking for where to go. So I end up trying to hold a captured location instead. I do a little better on attrition (more like a standard deathmatch) because I don't need to know the map to find enemies to shoot at. I still feel productive though...never as if I was a waste of space.

Finally got to play tonight and didn't stop for 3 hours, which is quite a long time for me. I was able to rank up to 12 or 13 in that time. Matches are quick, spawning is quick....it feels like you're just going going going, all the time. Tonight was also the first time I've partied up on the X1 (I've had it since launch but didn't have any close friends who did). Voice quality is really good, I was impressed with it. A friend who just got his console today was extremely surprised with the voice quality, too.

I'm typically middle of the pack when it comes to randoms. I like the bots because I typically kill more of them than anybody else on my team, but they often distract me from the actual players running around. I'm getting better at watching my mini-map though, since it differentiates between the two. Most everyone is shooting all the time, so it's really easy to see who is where.

Maps are great, I haven't really had any complaints. Just need to learn them. I'm not even using the wall-running all that much to be honest. I'm not really seeing the lines throughout the maps although I'm sure they're there.

That's what I like about the game. I can be last and still have kills. Capture the flag is tough because you need to act fast and know the maps. When titans all come in it can get crazy. I've seen more advanced people playing that mode than new players.

Either way you are having fun no matter what you do. It seems that you also get a good set of balanced weapons. It doesn't take long to kill someone and I have an easier time than in bf4.

It also seems less competitive and there are less pissed off team mates than in other mp games which is good.

Well, that's going to be true with any game. If I play Killer Instinct with someone who plays 300 hours a month, it'll be a quick demoralizing defeat for me. Same with Madden, World of Warcraft, etc.

Can you use the assassin as a custom class? I noticed the auto aim pistol is only a primary weapon so I don't use it. But I wonder why you can't have the assassin perks in a custom load out.

I've only configured one load out per pilot and titan and I've been using that throughout. I don't mind playing with randoms in this game as I don't have a Mic for the pc and a lot of times you are doing your own thing anyway.

I'm definately gonna look around for a deal on the map packs.

True, though with something like KI or Madden you have easy access to offline opponents. In Titanfall all you'll have are the AI to squash before being insta-murdered by some basement dweller with 2500 hours in 6 months lol :D

It's not a TF bash though, basically any online competitive title is like that, and FPS are just the most severe cases for it.

You can. I made a custom load where I have the carbine, autopistol, arc grenades, archer heavy rocket, cloak, enhanced parkour kit, and minion detector.

On the XB1 I found the bumper jumper pilot control layout to be the best way to go for me. I often parkour around the map and along the walls and having jump on LB allows you to keep your thumb on the analog stick to aim. It also doesn't change your titan's tactical ability from LB so you can still aim the vortex for example.

I played around for a bit and did all the IMC side of the campaign. I've spent time looking up the challenges and what I need to do to unlock different things for the weapons and there's a lot of stuff but most of it seems like it'll just come with time rather than things you need to focus on. I have yet to try any voice chat with the headset adapter, not really a fan of leaving it on in randoms. Don't need to hear people complaining about how I'm playing or whatnot. Just been playing with 5.1 speakers so far
