I'm not your typical graphics whore who rails on lower resolution, aliasing and framerate.....with that said, that looks rough. Very rough. I skipped ahead to the training with titans and with just the player in a titan and one other titan on-screen, and that's it, the framerate couldn't have been anymore than 20-25fps.

That was one rumor. One other one went the other way and was that they didn't show much because the game looked and ran like crap on the 360 due to the port.

A lot of the problems with the earlier link were probably due to hosting issues (the lag in the training was obvious).

This newer video looks a lot better, and pretty amazing for a 360 title honestly :

Remember, twitch video quality is basically garbage, it will look WAY better direct to a good display from a 360.

For example, look at this :

I've played a decent bit of TF on the XB1, and it looks MUCH better without the hella compression online.

Still, it's an engine from 2004, so we can't pick on it too much for having last-gen graphics. The XB1 version really isn't that much different from the 360 version, and the PC version is the same deal with higher resolution/AA (as long as the PC is fast enough of course).

Gameplay > graphics. For those that like it/love it, we have a new platform that looks totally worthy of it.

As for them holding it back, yeah it's not really crazy different. If Titanfall was the only reason for someone to want an XB1, and they already had a 360, then the 360 version is probably good enough honestly. But of course the XB1 has a load more games besides Titanfall both now and on the way, so investing in an XB1 isn't a bad option for those that want the exclusives.

Meh, I guess I'll just wait 6-12 months to get an XBone. For now, the 360 is more than good enough.

Yeah, after playing it for several hours, I wouldn't say that it's a game to get the One over. However, if you're going to get a One, it's definitely a game worth getting. the only thing that might concern me with the inferior 30 graphics is that the art style of the game causes player/A.I. models to blend in badly with the surroundings, so folks are really hard to see at a distance. If you add shoddy graphics to that equation, it might be a bit worse.

Both of those are spot on.

As for the actual look of the game, youtube compression is insanely terrible (eg; Titanfall on XB1 looks a good bit better live than it does on even the official youtube promotional videos, and paid-ad videos have the lowest compression of anything on youtube).

Hopefully someone will cap it and stick it on Vimeo HD.

Look at this : https://vimeo.com/81054750

I'm not picking on you at all with this next comment, I honestly feel like 99% of people don't know just how garbage Youtube is. Basically, if you hear anybody saying 'this game looks bad' based on Youtube footage, you have to take it with a grain of salt. You can tell some things from Youtube, but at the same time, so much compression really makes points of comparison difficult.

Here are two 720p caps, one from Youtube, one from Vimeo, both from the same official promo videos, I just capped them both and upped them, see if you can tell the quality difference (in particular, contrast/sharpness/vividness) :

I just called game stop and they offered me $17 for Dead Space 3, CoD Ghosts, and Bioshock Infinite. And they want 65 for this. I hate them so much.

That said I'm gonna get it. I played it on my friends XB1 and thought it was great.

Yeah, I don't take offense in the slightest. However, my comment was based on what time I've played Titanfall on the One (I'm at level 19, I think). I personally think that it's a bit tough to see pilots in the landscape, they blend in pretty well. I haven't looked at the 360 version at all, I just figured that when you took a setting where distant objects can be tough to spot, then downgrade the visuals, it probably gets worse.

That makes sense. Hopefully we'll get some better caps from it with low/no compression soon. They're probably already out there.

With the different AA implementation on the 360, and slightly simpler textures (less cognitive distraction), it might actually be easier to see pilots in the lower tech version. The only problem with that is with the lower native res, things in the far distance will be harder to make out (but of course it's a level playing field, so meh I guess).
