Hmm, not bad. Any speculation on the specs of the Titan Ultra?

Good news nonetheless. 600$ for Titan LE sounds pretty great.

You gotta read the link. The specs are there. Its the full GK110 with all shaders, like 2880 or something I think. I still won't buy one for $600. Too rich for my blood this time around.

For 1000$ I would definitely get a Titan ultra. If I sell my current setup for 600$ and save up the remaining 400$ I would get on on release day.

Just a rumor. The owner of 3DCenter speculated personally what a full Titan could look like. There is no concrete evidence or even rumors from Asia or so that this were true.

So Titan really wasnt a Titan afterall.

If i had dropped $1000 on this card only to have the real Titan come out a couple months later id be pissed.

Isn't that expected for computer hardware? Buy the best and 2 months later it's no longer the best? It's only the past few years things have slowed down a bit, there was a period when nVidia actually stuck to 6 month release cycles.

It would surprise me if they didn't save all of the fully unlocked chips for Quadro or Tesla where they charge a lot more than $1000 though.

Glad I sold mine, but I would consider the Titan LE and bios mod and OC to Titan speeds if it were $600.

If this is true I would definitely be upset! Drop a GRAND and you still don't have a full fledged Titan?

If this is true, a lot of enthusiasts will be upset since they put down a ton of money for these graphics cards. Nvidia needs to stop playing games and just set their prices and hold them since their really is no competition with these cards at this time. I can honestly say that I am somewhat interested in Titan LE now.

If you dropped a $1000 on a card that was only ~30% faster than the nearest competition, there is no reason to be pissed unless you're an idiot.

The question is how much faster the Titan LE, is gonna be than the 7970 1ghz?

GTX TITAN (one out now, non LE) is about ~28% faster than a 7970 1ghz ed.

Normal Titan has 2,688 cores? And LE is supposed to have 2496?

Thats like a 8% drop in cores.... so this will end up around ~116% of a 7970 1ghz? for 600$.

this

although I'd say regardless of the performance, anyone who drops $1000 on a single computer part shouldn't be upset, nothing is future proof, and whats more is anyone buying the Titan should have known they were buying a cut-down GK110 that could very well be supplanted by a GK110 that wasn't cut-down...its not like this rumor is about a secret GK111 (ALL THE WAY TO ELEVEN!!!) GPU with 4320 shaders and a 512bit bus with 8GB of ram that is going to be released for the same price.

a great example is those who plopped down $1000 for a 4 core, 45nm i7-975X shouldn't have been upset when the 6 core, 32nm i7-980X was released less than a year later for the same $1000

this stuff happens, deal with it, or learn how to manage your money better because you might have a problem

With the current GPU pricing "Karma", it will be $1300. Nothing to worry about Titan purchasers.

I don't really buy the rumor anyway based off of this source yet.

Except the 32nm Extreme chip is a full upgrade a year later.

This is the same exact chip being launched months later. If this rumour is true it sucks for Titan owners.

Weird if true, I would expect the other way around though: cut down Titan LEs for lower than $1k. Too much bad blood NV would generate the other way around... that'd be a lot of ticked off Titan owners.

They sort of did that with the 670. Almost same performance as 680 for $100 less. I would not be surprised to see another Titan thats almost as fast for $400 less. Anyway, that day is coming fast and everyone who bought a Titan knew it was the worst price/performance deal ever and it's shine wouldn't last long. Nice card though!

I bet you might be right on this one. Wow I am so glad I sold my Titan. I am going to lay low with a 7950 until the new stuff comes out.

33% average across 40 games and over 20 reviews, remove Sleeping Dogs and Sniper Elite which are notoriously bad on Nvidia hardware and it's 35%. And that is only at 2560x1440. Titan is 45% faster than 7970GE in mutli-monitor setups. But you can continue quoting worse-than-average-scenarios and calling people idiots if it makes ya feel better. ;)

I think the hd7990 is going to force a price cut eventually, and that is probably part of what this rumor is based on.

I'm betting Titan LE ends up ~25-30% faster than gtx680. 25-30% faster would make Titan LE 15-20% faster than an hd7970GE, according to this graph:
