basically a ripoff of diablo and dungeon siege. its not really that fun either. better graphics than those 2 games but it lags horribly (fps lag i guess) and my rig should be able to handle pretty much anything.

I guess you could call any and all new hack n' slash rpg games "a rip-off of Diablo" right? I mean, someone has to be the pioneer, in this case Blizzard.

So since they all have similar Diablo-ish nuances, should there be no more newly made hack n slash games created any longer?

BTW, to say its actually laggy and doesnt run well on your system means you have the demo or some how are playing it? If not, how can you justify your findings? I tried finding the demo with no luck. It says it will be released on june 10th?

Definitely choppy when moving or running, but surprisingly smooth when fighting with a lot of enemies on screen.

Pros:
1) Looks good.
2) Decent action, far less "sit back and watch" than Dungeon Siege was.
3) Good interface
4) Nice skill development system.
5) Probably plenty of quests in the full game.

Cons:
1) Will need a really high end system to run at it's best.
2) Very much a Dungeon Siege "rat in a maze" feel to movement. You're funneled in a narrow direction.
3) Non-moveable camera
4) ONE save slot
5) Saves are at specific points only. If you save at a non-save point the next time you start you're sent back to the last valid point. My God, I thought we had gotten past that sort of garbage back in the stone age.
6) 100% mindless once you get used to how good it looks.

Overall I'd say it most closely feels and plays like Sacred with better graphics. I won't be buying it, nothing new or interesting and the save system would drive me crazy in short order.

Although Sacred has more interesting characters (Seraphim, Demon, Dark Elf, etc.) and more open exploration, and even then it wasn't that good. DS 1 & 2 were bleh...

Sacred was a case of Quantity over Quality. None of the individual parts were done very well. Tons of fighting, but none of it felt all that fune. Tons of classes, but all drawn poorly. Tons of towns and places to explore, but none of them memorable.

i'm a fileplanet subscriber so i get 1st access to to the demo.

i wish i had some screenshots to show you guys what it looked like. it has many, many of the same exact things that d2 had, even down to the default keys.

i'm not saying they can't make games like d2 but come on, this is a blatant rip-off if i ever saw one. its like they took the d2 screens and slapped some new skins on them.

In addition to all the previous pros and cons, another con: The inventory is WAY too small. Without a decent portal or instant travel system to and from towns you're going to spend an inordinate amount of time walking back and forth to sell items.

Their portal system is more convenient, you can use it anytime you want. I'm actually looking forward to this game, it's almost a complete knock off of D2, just less in-depth. The graphics are good, and it's as close to the D2 style of combat I've seen in any 3D RPG yet. Not like all the lame ass MMOs out where you point, click, wait for something to die, you can actually hit and run in this game.

As long as it's released way ahead of Hellgate I'll be picking this up.
