I did a few runs with Metro 2033 and LL. Anyone with similar setups want to compare?

i5 2500K @ 4.3GHz
8GB DDR3
ASUS P8-Z68-V/Gen3
Titan's in SLI stock clock at 887MHz and usually boosts to 1046MHz.
337.50's
Windows 7 64-bit

Metro Last Light
Metro 2033
Crysis 3
BatmanAC
Unigine Heaven 4.0
Unigine Valley
will add more.

Metro Last Light:

Metro2033:

3DMark Firestrike 1.1 (Graphics Driver Is Not Approved due to Beta Driver)

BatmanAC:

Heaven 4.0:

Valley:

I'll keep em coming as I plow through them.

To see what these cards can really do you'd have to test them 1440 and above wouldn't you?

Not really necessary when you crank every conceivable option to it's highest. You can see avg. in the 60's for Metro LL.

I will have a 1440 screen soon though. But for now.

I'd tend to agree, as seems many going that route on monitors these days.

Just pushing a 280X and a 2560 x 1080 extended to a 1920 x 1080, but the 1440 trend and the upcoming 4Ks do beg the question.

I think I've just shown why 19x12 is still viable when maxing settings to the hilt.
1440 is gaining traction rapidly though.
4K, not for a while yet IMHO.

Nice cards. Are you waiting for the Asus 1440 G-Sync before you upgrade? It would make sense.

That and the fact SLI isn't even supported in many these days it seems......

"Many"? Sounds like an exaggeration there. I can flip through nvidia inspector now and see a plethora of SLI profiles for games not even released yet. SLI is generally well supported.

Oddly enough, the game benchmarked, scales very well with SLI.

too bad you are going to have the same minimum framerate in Crysis 3 with 2 titans as you do with just 1. a 2500k at 4.3 does not do that gpu setup justice.

Here is my benchmark of Metro LL at 1080p everything Max on GTX 780 SLI OC

yep so even with much slower cards you beat the crap out of his setup mainly because of your cpu. the benchmark is more cpu intensive than the actual game but still that is really impressive to just smoke Titan Blacks and 2500k like that with plain 780 sli and 3770k.

EDIT: wait you did not have physx on. I was wondering how you had such a massive gain...

Maybe it can be a reason too.

I ran the bench on max settings with physx and got 43 fps and then without physx and got 47 so physx does not have too much of impact. I am guessing you will still be in low to mid 70s for 780 sli.

wow so still 77 fps. so even taking into account the slightly lower res you are smoking his setup considering your cards are actually slower.

Just can't make myself upgrade to a Haswell for such a small performance gain. Hopefully Broadwell or Skylake will offer a compelling option.

I understand but when pushing multiple high end cards i think its worth it. I mean look at how much better he did with much slower gpus than you and all he has is Ivy Bridge i7. I sure would not wait all the way until Skylake as thats over 1.5 years away and you just arent getting the most out of $2000 worth of gpus.

He didn't have PhysX on. Didn't have tesselation on and was running 1920 x 1080 to my 1920x1200.

Add those up and it explains his score.

He has an Ivy clocked the same as my Sandy. At best he has 5% advantage. I think.

he ran it with physx on way before you replied and still beat you by pretty huge margin considering your gpus are quite a bit faster. he would really destroy you in Crysis 3 as that game ate my 2500k for lunch in spots and the 4770k is night and day difference. I will have a better playable experience with 780 in that game than you will with Titan Black sli if you like you use vsync like I do. the advantage you have is being able to crank MSAA but I will take SMAA and 60 fps all day long over that. Crysis 3 is pretty rare though as no other game like that needs that kind of cpu power.
