Tireshop messed up my wheel

I took my mustang in to get it aligned since the camber is off after being lowered a little bit. They get it aligned and then tell me about my front tires need replacing since they are worn quite a bit on the insides. They sell me on a decent deal on some Goodyear F1's for 100 dollars each mounted and balanced.

I give them the okay to put the tires on around noon. I got off work around 5 and went to the shop to pick up my car and notice they are still trying to get the first tire mounted. They had about 5 people trying to help with it and are hammering away on the tire with a hammer I guess trying to get it to seal. They said the sidewalls are really stiff on this specific tire.

I waited there for another hour when the shop owner said he was calling it and was going to put my old tires back on but they were having trouble getting the new tire off the wheel and they were closing and I would have to leave my car with them overnight, was not happy but oh well.

I finally get the car back at lunchtime the next day, they were working on the drivers side front wheel and I checked it for damage before I even went into the shop. It looked fine so I paid for my alignment and left. When I got back to work I noticed the passenger side wheel had all kinds of mounting grease still left on it and it was pretty dinged up. So this is where they get shady. They had to take the passenger side wheel off the car and put it on the drivers side. Then put the wheel they messed up on the passenger side, I guess hoping I wouldn't see it? I drive the car back down there and they apologize and claim they didn't see the damage, but admit they must have caused it. They call out a third party company they use to fix wheels and the guy said he couldn't fix it.

They told me to go ahead and buy a new wheel and bring them the invoice and they will write me a check for it, at least they are making this right but this has been a nightmare.

Tire shop messed up my wheel. They tried to hide it but are making it right in the end.

First time I have been to a tire shop that was not able to mount a tire. The tire's size was the exact same size as the one they took off. I have seen people on some of the mustang boards run these Goodyears on the same wheel also.

Get that promise in writing. My wheels are seriously expensive from Mazda and I am sure that no one is willing to reimburse that much for one wheel. If you have stock wheels, I am sure you'll be in the same boat.

I posted a thread maybe 2 months ago with the same story.

I had a set of 4 put on my 350z and 3 out of 4 rims had some pretty good scratches on the rims from half assed work. The shop owner was telling me how perfect my car was and how there wasn't a scratch on it (08 with 14k miles).

I get my car back drive 5 miles home and go to admire my whip and viaola saw my rims were all fudged up. I quickly drove back and pointed out the damage. Shop owner was quick to accepts responsibility. A week later all 4 of my rims were professionaly refinished. I was surprised how good they came out.

BMW scratched up my wheels awhile back, when the removed the wheel weights they pried them off with a screwdriver.

Ordered the wheel online and took the invoice down the tire shop at lunch. They wrote me a check so all is well.

They didn't ask for the dinged up wheel not sure what I am going to do with it. I doubt anyone would buy it but I guess I could always take it to the scrap metal place.

I would keep it, just case you end up with a bent wheel later on down the road. I imagine there's a wheel shop that could fix that, it would need to be rechromed though.
