Tips on Replacing the HS

Soon I am going to be replacing my stock intel HS and I was wondering if you guys have any tips on how to get the old one off. I heard the thermal paste can harden and cause damage if I am not careful taking it off. So if theres any specific way you guys like to do it? Also, do you guys have any tips for getting as much old thermal compound paste off?

Let teh CPU get hot. Play a game or run Prime or something to get the CPU temp as high as you can. The immediately shut down and remove the HS. This helps prevent the HS from sticking to the CPU and pulling it out of the socket.

Once removed, clean all the old paste off the CPU and HS with isopropyl alcohol.

Never has a problem with sticking with AS3 or AS5. Don't know if most people are talking about the stock thermal pad when they talk about sticking or whatnot, but maybe I just have lucked out

But will it come off easily? :S

Assuming he actually knows how to remove it, it should come off without issue.

If it is stuck, just twist it off, don't pull. Just keep twisting gently back and forth until it gets loose and comes off. Clean with >90% isopropyl alcohol.
