Tips for TV gaming & comfort?

I've tried hooking my laptop up to my TV and also a project a few times, but it's never been too fun because I have to sit on a couch or comfy chair with a wireless keyboard and mouse. That sounds fun, but it's kind of awkward to have the keyboard in your lap and mouse on the armrest or both on a coffee table leaning forward. Anyone have a good solution for more comfortable couch-potatoing? :D

get something to prop your keyboard on, a TV dinner stand, or some sort of flat surface to rest on makes all the difference.

I use a recliner with a table next to it for the mouse. The keyboard works fine in my lap.

ATi Remote Wonder BOB will control the mouse, and works with any GFX card, and I assume other remotes will work too, might be easier than a mouse, and then you can use a wireless keyboard.
Or get a Keyboard with built in mouse e.g. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823109150

I dunno what BOB is but I have a Remote Wonder and the mouse tracking isn't too great. Overall it's the best remote I've ever owned for a computer though, I'd highly recommend it to anyone :)

Yuck, trackball. I'd get owned in HL2 or FEAR lol. Nice compact keyboard tho...hmm...

Oop, sorry about that. I'm afraid I was in HTPC mode there.

Hrrmmm...well, in that case, I'd say you pretty much need a table of some sort, and a regular mouse and keyboard combo.

Edit: Or hope that Gizmondo's Lapboard both works as advertised, and can survive the company's shennanigans.

I've heard those have a compatibility problem with NFS4 where it causes your Ferrari to crash when you're using the lapboard though...

Yep, the manufacturer claims that's a problem with the Dietrich driver, but as far as I know, nobody actually has that driver installed. :)

I'll make sure to avoid installation in that case. Also, make sure you download the English drivers, I've heard that the Swedish versions are buggy with Grand Theft Auto :D
