i've noticed that my taste buds are getting worse and worse as i get older. with that i've been adding more salt to my food and buying foods that have a high sodium count. any recommendations on food preparation that doesn't need a whole lot of salt? I realize that this weakness is gonna be a deal breaker in losing fat but i find it hard to get away from it.

How is it a deal breaker in losing fat? It won't really hurt that too much (although it will to some degree), BUT it may increase blood pressure problems. I was thinking about buying some potassium salt, since I'm the same way. Potassium balances high intake of sodium. So if you can actually balance the two, you'll actually not have many problems. Just be careful not to take in too much potassium 'cause that can actually 'cause problems too. I'd like to research it in advance just to be sure, but I mean, you could use both normal salt and potassium salt throughout the day to try to balance.

Wiki link mentioning it. I'll try to find a website selling it as actual salt and not KCl. I don't want somethin' that's chemistry-grade, lol. Also, keep in mind there are some advisory listings. Don't use/take too much or you could possibly harm yourself.

EDIT: Link.

I've heard that the heat that crushed red pepper adds can replace the taste of salt for some people, but that probably only works if you like spicy food. Garlic salt adds some more flavor. Sea salt is good, but if you want to avoid salt, the last two aren't much good, but they seem to pack more flavor into the same amount of sodium.
