tip question (pizza delivery)

if the total comes to $8.47 and i give the guy a $10 is this considered a decent amount? I know there area few ex pizza delivery guys here, and I would like to avoid getting any "extra" toppings in the future

The way I figure is, percentages don't really work for pizza. If I have to basically do the same amount of work whether you ordered a sub and a soda, or 4 large pizzas, why should the tip depend on the size of the bill?

I guess I can understand what you're saying, but on another note this is a dorm and the guy delivers like 7 different orders at a time (to this dorm). Takes an hour to get the pizza cause they lump all the orders together, I have no problem with that tho.

$2 seems to be the norm, most people we deliver to know how far the guy has to go, and such, or if it's late at night people are usually considerate.....it seems logical to just take whatever tax is and round up to the dollar...or "keep the change" always works....

bah, most places here charge you 1.50 or $2 for delivery anyhow, i give a buck or two at the most, and half the time my order is wrong

2-3 is what i give.
Friend of mine had 800 bucks to blow...he tipped 20 dollars when we got pizza once. The look on the kids face was priceless.
