Additional tip: When you know that the struts that are supposed to keep your car's hood open are weak, be sure to prop the hood up with something while working on the car. If nothing is available to prop the hood with, be sure to have a supply of pain killers on hand for when the edge of the hood makes forceful contact with the back of your skull.
