tiny houses

Pretty sweet if you just wanted to escape into the wilderness. Not rugged or secure enough for a bug out house though.

I'll take mine in hardened concrete with a steel frame, and a basement, please. 😀

I would love something like that. But we want to have kids, so I am stuck in this big 1500sq.ft. house. After the kids are done with school I would like to get a nice 600-800sq.ft. house.

That z-glass one is so hawt!!

And you can put wheels on that bad boy? Sounds like a great little beach getaway or mountain getaway where all you'll do is basically sleep in it.

"I always enjoy the quaintness of rolling out of bed in the morning in my Tiny House and finding myself on my front porch."

I paid that much for my 2400SQFT home 😛
Maybe if I was a loaner, and wanted to detach from society it would be cool, or a tree hugger, but I like space.

that is if you order it pre-built. you can built it yourself for 1/3 the cost. $15k isnt bad if you are willing to put in the time and sweat.

They make awfully cute replacements for trailers/campers. I like how they made the smaller ones towable by a pickup truck, so they can cater to sane people with some extra cash for a summer camp 🙂

In many lakes there are plenty of very small islands (say, 7 by 7 meters), so I think putting one of these houses on an island like that would be pretty cool.

I'd just buy the blueprint and build it myself though, the ready-made ones are far too expensive.

I thought you get out of cities to live in a tent? Why not bring coke, fast food, Internet, TV and phone as well? 😕

If I get convicted of a felony, you can punish me by making me live in one of those.

Not only would it be too small for me mentally, it would be pretty small physically (I am 6'3", 240 lbs).

besides the fact that not everyone lives in a city, these are actual houses for some people. no property tax, no mortgage, low energy consumption/cost and the freedom to go anywhere on land.

..mabe 2 or 3 of em wit hallways connecting them. I know somebody who connected 3 double wides together and it worked out great.

you just need 2 double wides, you'd be amazed how nice your house on wheels could be.

..well you get 3 of em and configure them into a triangle with connecting hallway kits. Then landscape all around and the center of the triangle. You need about 5 acres to do it right. Then fence the whole works in. If you really want to get lavish get 5 of em and make your own pentagon.
